TBX1 and psychotic disorder: Our data show that constitutive Tbx1 heterozygosity results in highly focal volume alterations in anterior and posterior parts of the amygdaloid complex and its surrounding cortical regions and impairments in incentive learning of a social partner in an amygdala-dependent task, as is seen in 22q11.2 deletion carriers with psychosis (14) or ASD diagnosis (6) and in a genetic mouse model of 22q11.2 hemizygous deletion (15).
