The cells were stained with LysoTracker, and their fluorescence intensity showed a remarkable reduction in cKp-infected macrophages compared with that in hvKp-infected cells (Supplementary Figure 2A for BMDMs and Supplementary Figure 2B for RAW264.7 cells); this finding suggests that hvKp and cKp infections induce cathepsin B leakage from lysosomes in macrophages.
