Increases of Cer(d18:1/18:0) and the ceramide ratios Cer(d18:1/18:0)/Cer(d18:1/24:0) were correlated with cardiac injury; very-long-chain ceramides [Cer(d18:1/24:0) and Cer(d18:1/24:1)] and Cer(d18:1/16:0) were correlated with liver dysfunction; Cer(d18:1/16:0) and Cer(d18:1/16:0)/Cer(d18:1/24:0) were correlated with renal dysfunction (all P < 0.005). This evidence concerns the gene CBLN1 and Decreased liver function.
