Similarly, icariin can also inhibit GC cell progression via multiple mechanisms, such as (a) regulating the hsa_circ_0003159/eIF4A3/bcl-2 axis to promote GC cell apoptosis (Yin et al., 2022); (b) regulating the hsa_circ_0003159/miR-223-3p/NLRP3 signaling axis to inhibit GC cell viability and trigger cell pyroptosis (Zhang F. et al., 2022); (c) blocking the cell cycle in G0/G1 phase (Duan et al., 2009); and (d) downregulating metastasis-related proteins (Chen S. H. et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene EIF4A3 and gastric cancer.
