Evidence thus far unanimously suggested stimulatory effects of Huaier or HQH on CD4+ T lymphocytes as mentioned previously, except for one study claiming that Huaier suppressed anti-CD3 and anti-CD28-induced PBMC activation and reduced IL-2 production of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) patients (77). The gene discussed is CD28; the disease is autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura.
