Our preliminary data indicates that while tumors express high levels of AIM2 and NLRP3, tumor CM increases the expression of AIM2, but not NLRP1, NLRP2 or NLRP3 inflammasomes, suggesting that AIM2 and NLRP3 inflammasomes may play complementary roles in inflammasome activation in response to tumor-derived mediators. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and neoplasm.
