Attention should be given to the exudate component; it is important in wound healing and/or management because the exudate is not only water but also other components such as platelets, plasma proteins, glucose, growth factors, and waste products, which can contribute and cause higher CRP values, infection, pain, hypoalbuminemia, skin maceration, and dehydration, including malnutrition, which is consistent with our own observations [48]. Here, CRP is linked to nutritional deficiency disease.
