The remaining most frequent mutated cancer driver genes (Figure 5) found in early-stage samples (KMT2C [57], ALK [58], BRCA2 [59], GRM [60], ATM [61], and BRCA1 [62]) were not among those found to be the most frequently shared in late-stage samples (MUC16 [63], CSMD3 [64], KNT2C, NF1 [65], LRP1B [66], SPEN [67], and TRRAP [68]). This evidence concerns the gene ATM and cancer.
