FOXM1 and neoplasm: Importantly, not only is FOXM1 associated with tumor progression and poor prognosis of ovarian cancer, but a large body of evidence from functional studies so far has established the pivotal roles of FOXM1 in cellular proliferation, migration, invasion, and chemoresistance of ovarian cancer [5], suggesting that FOXM1 is a rational and attractive therapeutic target for ovarian cancer, in particular for aggressive ovarian cancer with poor prognosis.
