Several risks factors for the development of ovarian cancer were identified, including family history of ovarian cancer in a first-degree relative, genetic predisposition (e.g., mutations of BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes), hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer, endometriosis, postmenopausal hormone therapy, and lifestyle effects, for instance, obesity and smoking [4]. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA2 and ovarian carcinoma.
