Since TRPM1, as well as its alternative splicing variants (multiple transcripts have been identified in melanoma cells [5,8]), and miR-211 have all been shown to be involved somehow in the process of melanoma, current therapy to combat melanoma aims to identify and modulate these targets, since TRPM1 could be utilized as a biomarker of melanoma progression, and miR-211 levels or its protein targets could be supplemented using molecular biological techniques [3,4]. Here, TRPM1 is linked to melanoma.
