Nowadays, despite the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and digital rectal examination remaining essential for the diagnosis of PCa, multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) and transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) fusion-targeted biopsy significantly improve the detection and localization of ISUP ≥ 2 grade cancers, especially when their diameter is larger than 10mm, with more precise preoperative assessment of both grade and stage [7,8,9,10]. Here, KLK3 is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
