Two compounds (honokiol and antartina) and two decoctions (Qing Yi Hua Ji and Juzen-taiho-to) activated tumor immune components, including macrophages and/or dendritic cells [5,6,14,23], while some agents (emodin, honokiol, antartina, Qing Yi Hua Ji, and Pien tze huang) showed anti-inflammatory effects via the suppression of proinflammatory molecules such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) or nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) [23] in transplanted tumor tissues, including the colon, pancreas, and peritoneal cavity [5,7,10,18,21]. The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is neoplasm.
