The American (AUA) guidelines do acknowledge the fact that novel PET tracers appear to show greater sensitivity than conventional imaging for the detection of prostate cancer recurrence and metastases at low PSA values (<2.0 ng/mL); however, while these advanced imaging modalities may enhance the detection of metastatic lesions, the impact on treatment decisions and patients’ overall survival has not been demonstrated yet. The gene discussed is KLK3; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
