Importantly, in the Cheng et al. study, where they studied upregulated genes post estrogen activation by utilizing the GSE11324 dataset, we identified SEMA3C among the top 100 genes induced by estradiol in that study (p < 0.0001) [28] (Figure 2A), further supporting the notion that SEMA3C expression is tightly linked to ER signaling in breast cancer. Here, ESR1 is linked to breast carcinoma.
