NISCH and schizophrenia: Using these data, we found that the mRNA expression of NISCH was significantly higher in the DLPFC of patients with schizophrenia (P = 2.07 × 10−9) and patients with BD (P = 6.53 × 10−4) compared with unaffected controls [45], further confirming that higher expression of NISCH is linked with an increased risk of schizophrenia and BD.
