Sorcin (SOluble Resistance-related Calcium binding proteIN) is one of the most expressed calcium-binding proteins in many tissues and is overexpressed in many human cancers, including leukemias, lymphomas, breast, lung, gastric, ovarian, nasopharyngeal tumors, glioblastoma, astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, adenocarcinoma and multidrug (MD)-resistant tumors, with respect to normal tissues [19, 20]. This evidence concerns the gene SRI and cancer.
