Various studies have reported a role for P2X1, P2Y1 and P2Y12 receptors in inflammation, but to focus on P2Y1, a global participation is evident in models of bacterial infection (Geary et al., 2005), allergic lung inflammation (Gao & Gao, 2021), LPS‐induced lung inflammation (Amison et al., 2017) and inflammatory bowel disease (Zhang et al., 2020). Here, P2RY1 is linked to inflammatory bowel disease.
