Collagen accumulation decreased after 14 days of transplantation and immunohistochemical analysis revealed that the transplanted WJ-MSCs produced albumin, HGF, and metalloproteinase (MMP), suggesting that WJ-MSCs might alleviate liver collagen and could be used in liver fibrosis therapy (Lin et al., 2010). The gene discussed is HGF; the disease is Hepatic fibrosis.
