Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in melanomas that were positively associated with APRIL/TNFSF13 expression included the immune cell biomarkers (CD4, CD11b/ITGAM, LAIR1, LFA-1/ITGB2) and several genes linked to immune cell infiltration of tumors, including CYTH4, SLC7A7/LAT1, SELPLG, TMEM176A, and TMEM176B. The CD11b/ITGAM integrin is expressed by macrophages, granulocytes, and subsets of NK cells, B cells, and CD8+ T cells and its expression is prognostic of improved patient response to ICB in lung cancer patients (18–20). This evidence concerns the gene TMEM176A and melanoma.
