It has also been reported that a curcumin derivative, curcumin nicotinate, inhibits proliferation of colon, breast, and nasopharyngeal cancer cells, induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase through a p53-mediated mechanism, and p21Cip1 and pro-apoptotic proteins upregulation (He et al. 2019).
