Previous work has shown that RISC association of miR-324-5p and its mRNA target coding for the voltage-gated potassium channel Kv4.2 is increased after seizure and in epilepsy (Gross et al., 2016; Tiwari et al., 2019), suggesting elevated activity of miR-324-5p and increased silencing of Kv4.2. The gene discussed is KCND2; the disease is epilepsy.
