Furthermore, more children were diagnosed with hereditary pancreatitis compared to adults (33.3% versus 8%; p < 0.001) and more children reported genetic mutations: PRSS1 mutations (29.2% vs. 6%), SPINK (25% vs. 3%), CFTR mutations (20.9% vs 6.5%) p values of < 0.001, < 0.001 and 0.014 respectively (Table 2). The gene discussed is PRSS1; the disease is hereditary chronic pancreatitis.
