In relation to hyperthyroidism, its predominance associated with PVV and/or AVV (Table 7 and Table 8) could be mainly due to the possibility of TAS2R38 expression in thyrocytes with lower sensitivity to antithyroid effects exerted by the exposition of individuals with these haplotypes to TAS2R38 agonists [21]. Here, TAS2R38 is linked to hyperthyroidism.
