Furthermore, the SOD quartiles with a percentage of visceral fat of <9% (OR = 68.18, 95% CI: 1.55–1995.89), a HOMA-IR of more than the median (OR = 15.70, 95% CI: 1.81–136.32), and a TC level of >200 mg/dL (OR = 17.15, 95% CI: 1.17–250.01) were significantly associated with T2D risk. This evidence concerns the gene SOD1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
