CRP and diabetes mellitus: After adjusting for age, diabetes, SpO2 ≤ 93%, creatinine, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALK-P), CRP, LDH and sodium, the increased mortality in the high sMg group (Q5) was not statistically significant, whereas the low magnesium group (Q1) maintained statistically higher mortality rates (when compared to Q2, the quintile with the lowest mortality rate: HR of 1.563 for Q1, 1.102 for Q3, 1.051 for Q4 and 1.288 for Q5) (Table 3.
