The pharmacological preventive treatment of migraine involves different drug classes, including b-blockers, antidepressants, calcium channel blockers, antiepileptics, onabotulinum toxin type A for chronic migraine (CM) and more lately the monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) or its receptor. The gene discussed is CALCA; the disease is cutaneous mastocytosis.
