We analyzed the concentration of each type of LEV separately, and we found that this group of pregnant women showed an increase in the levels of circulating endothelial LEVs expressing E-selectin (CD62E) and ICAM-1 (CD54) on their surface in the later stage of pregnancy, which reflects the activation of endothelial cells and endothelial dysfunction (Jiménez et al., 2003; Zhang, 2022; Mezine et al., 2023). This evidence concerns the gene ICAM1 and endothelial dysfunction.
