The EBV LMP-1 gene, which is expressed during the latency type II and type III, commonly found in EBV+nHL and EBV+HL patients, encode for a highly polymorphic peptide, which stabilizes the non-classical HLA molecule HLA-E on the surface of latently EBV-infected cells (5). The gene discussed is HLA-E; the disease is non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
