NPPB and heart failure: Society of Thoracic Surgeons score (4.4 ± 5.3 vs. 5.5 ± 4.6, p = 0.2) and EUROScoreII (5.2 ± 7.2 vs. 6.5 ± 4.8, p = 0.34) as well as NYHA class (NYHA III: 70.4% vs. 71.4%, p = 0.67) as a surrogate for symptom burden and NT-proBNP (p = 0.23) as a biomarker for heart failure were also found to be similar.
