CD4 and Opportunistic infection: The results from participants in the PLWH cohort were analysed according to their most recent CD4 count; those with a CD4 count less than 200 cells/μl (increased risk of opportunistic infections), those with a CD4 count between 200-500 cells/μl (lower than the ‘normal’ range of uninfected individuals but opportunistic infections are unlikely), and those above 500 cells/μl (considered a ‘normal’ range).
