Interestingly, the PAT6 sample was genotyped as HLA-B*15:02-negative with routine PCR-SSP; therefore, the patient was reported to have a normal risk of carbamazepine-induced Stevens–Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis (SJS/TEN) according to the CPIC guidelines, and carbamazepine would be prescribed as per standard dosing guidelines. This evidence concerns the gene HLA-B and Schwartz-Jampel syndrome.
