In rat aortic VSMCs, Ang II-induced hypertrophy was reliant on reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction (Yin et al., 2020), whereas cyclophilin A (CyPA), the chaperone protein expressed in VSMCs, could enhance their migration and proliferation, while the deficiency of this protein blocked Ang II-mediated vascular inflammation and decreased aortic inflammatory cell recruitment (Satoh et al., 2009). This evidence concerns the gene AGT and inflammation.
