To understand whether the formation of condensates is important for wild type HIV-1 infection, we measured infectivity of A549 by HIV-1-GFP (MOI of ~ 2, which results in the infection of more than 90% of the cells) in cells that had been treated with a hypertonic medium at 10 h post-infection to prevent the assembly of CPSF6 condensates (Fig. 5). The gene discussed is CPSF6; the disease is infection.
