Although SVIP silencing resulted in diminished expression of p53 together with increased proliferation rates in p53 wt MCF7 and ZR-75-1 cells but not in p53 mutant T47D and SK-BR-3 cells, the migration of MCF-7 and T47D cell lines was affected by SVIP silencing, suggesting that breast cancer cells with lower SVIP expression might have higher migration ability (Figure 7A–D). The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is breast cancer.
