Interestingly, except for head and neck (50%), esophageal (23%), cervical (21%) cancers, and hematological malignancies (14%), particularly B cell lymphoma (33%), the SVIP promoter CpG island was most often found to be unmethylated in the other cancer types including prostate and breast cancers [18]. This evidence concerns the gene SVIP and B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
