The MetaScope-CytoHubba analysis revealed that 11 out of the 27 significantly altered protein-coding network genes, the most important highly connected hub genes are NOS3, NOS2, VEGFa, AKT, PRKG1, HO-Heme Oxygenase-1(Homx1/HO-1), CAT, NRF2(Nfe2l2), HIF-1a, SOD1, SOD2, and SOD3 are actively involved in sepsis development and regulation pathways (Additional file 3: File S4). This evidence concerns the gene HMOX1 and Sepsis.
