These results are consistent with those reported by Wang et al., who showed the ability of cyclopamine to decrease the PTCH1, SMO, and Gli1 mRNA expression in human pancreatic cancer (PANC-1) and human colon cancer (HT-29, LoVo, and HCT-116) cell lines in vitro (Wang et al. 2014). Here, SMO is linked to familial pancreatic carcinoma.
