Among many pro-proliferative pathways in GBs, literature data show the pivotal role of the phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/Akt), Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK-STAT), and mitogen-activated protein kinase/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (MAPK/ERK) pathways as key factors in the adhesive and invasive properties of such cancer cells (Ou et al. 2021; Ramaswamy et al. 2019; Li et al. 2016b).
