PIK3CD and osteosarcoma: used Isoliquiritigenin (ISL) to inhibit the PI3K/AKT pathway and found that the protein expression levels of Bax and active Caspase-3 were elevated, while Bcl-2 levels were significantly decreased, and further studies revealed that apoptosis was accelerated and the invasion, proliferation and migration of osteosarcoma cells were inhibited (Figure 2E) (63), thus suggesting that the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway would be partially affected by the PI3K/AKT pathway.
