Pin1 is frequently overexpressed in many human cancers, including HCC (Pang et al., 2004; Pang et al., 2007; Cheng et al., 2013; Lu and Hunter, 2014; Kim et al., 2015; Shinoda et al., 2015), thereby contributing to centrosome amplification, chromosome instability, and tumorigenesis both in vitro and in vivo; indeed, its expression correlates with poor clinical outcomes (Zhou and Lu, 2016).
