In line with data combining increased BAFF levels and higher B cell frequencies in PCOS (Xiao et al., 2019), hyperandrogenic women with PCOS had a significant rearrangement of the B cell repertoire, resulting in higher frequencies of ‘age-associated B cells’ (ABCs) DN B memory cells that notably differ from naïve B cells for their lack of IgD.
