RAG1 and polycystic ovary syndrome: Based on these results, in accordance with the lack of phenotype in RAG1 KO-/- mice following IgG transfer, identification of the precise role for T cell activation in PCOS warrants further investigation as well as of tissue-resident immune cells such as macrophages, potentially skewing to a pro-inflammatory phenotype, which may, in turn, be responsible for inflammatory cytokine production.
