A substantial increase in the number of glial fibrillary acid protein (GFAP) positive cells, both astrocytes and radial glial cells, was found in fetuses with DS at 18–20 weeks of gestation and all age range samples of DS brains (Mito and Becker, 1993; Dossi et al., 2018; Ponroy Bally et al., 2020). Here, GFAP is linked to Dravet syndrome.
