The pathogenesis of AD is related to the formation of senile plaques by Aβ (Ma et al., 2017), neurofibrillary tangles caused by abnormal accumulation of tau protein (Reeves et al., 2020), and depolarization of AQP4(AQP4 polarization: AQP4 is mainly expressed in astrocytes’ endfeet; AQP4 depolarization: AQP4 expression is transferred from astrocytes’ endfeet to the whole astrocytes cell body) on the astrocytes (Lynch et al., 2022). Here, MAPT is linked to Alzheimer disease.
