To further explore the physiological role of Ly6d in NAFLD, we suppressed Ly6d expression in the liver by tail vein injection of a serotype 8 AAV expressing short hairpin RNA against Ly6d. After 16 weeks of HFD feeding, Western blot analysis showed that the expression levels of Ly6d protein were significantly lower in the livers of HFD-fed Ly6d KD mice than in those of HFD-fed control mice (Fig. 6A). The gene discussed is LY6D; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
