NSUN2 and cancer: To get insights into the regulatory role of m5C, we performed KEGG analysis on mRNAs with differentially downregulated m5C sites after NSUN2 silencing and observed that they were mainly enriched in pathways in cancer, MAPK pathways, focal adhesion and other oncogenic pathways (Fig. 5D, E), which suggests that NSUN2 may be involved in cell proliferation and migration in an m5C-dependent manner.
