It may be because the mucinous tumor of germ cell origin is biologically equivalent to the mucinous tumor of intestinal origin (i.e. the immunohistochemical stain results, including CK7, CK20, and CDX2).9 Therefore, both conditions have very similar MR characteristics and only differ due to reported primary mucinous tumors—the so-called stained glass appearance.12,19.
