It has been shown that increased density of CD68+ tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) is associated with increased vascular and lymphatic invasion in HNSCC (Pollard 2004; Kuang et al. 2007), and Vimentin is known to be associated with tumor growth and metastasis in cancer (Satelli and Li 2011).
