FBXW7 and cancer: Our study therefore not only validates earlier bioinformatic analyses based on the TCGA dataset which suggested that FBXW7 mutations in a spectrum of various cancers cause metabolic reprogramming by upregulating oxidative phosphorylation, but we also demonstrate through RNAseq that this metabolic reprogramming is the major downstream effect of knocking out the FBXW7 gene on the cell [29].
