Among the 5 downregulated miRs in vaginal melanoma, miR-145-5p has been shown to function as a tumor suppressor miR in cutaneous melanoma via inhibition of TLR4 and NRAS expression and subsequent regulation of the downstream NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways that contribute to tumor proliferation, migration, and invasion [45, 46].
