To further illustrate the effect of miR-143/145 on P. gingivalis-accelerated atherosclerosis in a macrophage-specific cell line, we constructed ApoE−/−LysMcre mice and generated a cre-dependent rAAV9-mediated miR-143/145 overexpression vector (rAAV9-miR-143/145) that was delivered into ApoE−/−LysMcre mice via tail vein (Fig. 5e). Here, APOE is linked to atherosclerosis.
