Between 13% and 47% of high-grade osteosarcomas have been found to contain amplification of several genes that map to a region of chromosome 17p11.2, including COP9 constitutive photomorphogenic homolog subunit 3 (COPS3), nuclear receptor corepressor (NCOR1), target of myb1-like 2 (TOM1L2), and peripheral myelin protein 22 (PMP22), and may be involved in osteosarcoma tumorigenesis (30). Here, TOM1L2 is linked to osteosarcoma.
